11-09-01 871 Bus will not operate. Turbine fault. Turbine will not run. Called bus rep. Bus rep instructed to reset computer and recharge 10 minutes. Returned to track and ran approximately two miles. Troubleshooting via phone was inconclusive, bus rep. to come in to assess the problem. Rear panel indicated Grid Fault #10029. 4.0 4.0
11-12-01 1151 Manufacturer's rep arrived to troubleshoot turbine fault. As per manufacturer's report, the turbine fault was traced to an overheated (melted) fuse in the traction voltage distribution section. The distribution panel was incorrectly assembled, a cad-plated steel washer was incorrectly placed between a current carrying wire lug and the fuse blade resulting in a hot connection and ultimate failure of the fuse under load. The fuse was replaced and turbine operation was verified. The vehicle was placed back under test, but with erratic results since the traction batteries had been discharged and not properly recharged. At one point, the traction and power steering were disabled due to a high voltage from "regen" of the traction controller. The vehicle was checked out and software modifications were made to ensure proper operation of the regen energy "clamp." Batteries placed under charge and watered. 8.0 8.0
11-15-01 1325 Manufacturer determined the need to increase the absorption capacity of the electric boiler to eliminate potential over voltage damage of the regen "clamp" or traction controller. New boiler with larger resistors installed in the same location. Seat had to be removed to accommodate new boiler. 5.0 5.0
01-11-02 6748 A loose battery connector overheated and melted the plastic top cover of the two adjacent batteries. Battery connector and two batteries replaced. 4.0 4.0
01-28-02 7425 The micro-turbine will not operate. Read out indicates "Fuel Fault." Tested fuel flow at the electric pump. Replaced fuel pump. Removed microturbine and replaced the fuel manifold. Removed fuel ingitor and tested for spark (no spark). Replaced fuel ignitor. Reinstalled microturbine. 8.0 8.0
12-20-01 5520 The tie rod ends on the steering drag links (short link between the axle and the idler) are worn. Both ends replaced. 1.0 1.0
